Corporate Trade Marks Department: Trade Mark Mapping application

This application enables Unilever to visualise the global status of both their own and competitors brands. Our services included start to finish project management; systems analysis and design; development; data conversion; testing (unit, integration, system, user acceptance, operation acceptance); training course development and user training; implementation and operational handover. The application uses Visual Basic 6, ASP, Oracle 8i, MapInfo MapX GIS software, Crystal Reports, Visual C++, ATL, ADABAS, Natural, Unix shell programming, Doc-to-help, Macromedia director and is packaged using Wise for Windows installer

External Relations Department: Charitable Appeals application

This application that manages requests to Unilever for corporate sponsorship. Visual Thought provided all aspects of the project delivery and since implementation have provided additional releases of the software and user training. The application uses Visual Basic 6, Access, Crystal reports, Doc-to-help and is packaged using Wise for Windows installer.

UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

BPR of Registration system

Visual Thought provided project management consultancy and development services on the Nursing and Midwifery councils call-centre, registration and document workflow application. This system substantially re-engineered the NMC business processes and manages the statutory licensing of all 650,000 Nurses and Midwifes in the UK. A nurse or midwife would be unable to start a new job if this system failed. The application uses Visual Basic 6, SQL Server 7, Microsoft Transaction Server, Commidea WinTI card processing software, OMR software, Integrated Voice Response hardware, Business Objects, Avaya’s CRM central call-centre and document workflow product and an n-tier Microsoft-based architecture.

Overseas Document Archive

Visual Thought delivered an archive of 1.5 million legal documents relating to Overseas Nurses. This project was delivered using PRINCE2. Technologies involved: Win2003, XSLT, XML, HP-UX , Natural Light storm and ADABAS.

Technical Consultancy

Technical consultancy on HP-UX, Software AG products, Windows 3.1. This has included technical reviews, performance tuning, problem resolution and building service delivery capabilities.

This has included migration of hardware upgrading of operating system software; upgrading of database management software; upgrading of 4GL programming languages; installation of new print servers; disaster recovery planning and testing; tuning, development of PC/UNIX integration application and training of operational support staff and system administrators
